(NEWSER) - A plumber who said he was just playing around was busted yesterday in a bizarre bow-and-arrow attack on a Yonkers woman. A 30-inch arrow arced from the sky to pierce the woman's stomach as she walked in the Bronx last Sunday. Police became suspicious when the plumber, who lived near the attack, acted "squirrely" while being questioned, a cop told the New York Daily News. He has been charged with assault and reckless endangerment. More»

New Yorker Felled by Arrow in Mystery Attack

'They shot me with an arrow,' screamed the woman in bizarre attack

(NEWSER) - A Yonkers woman was shot in the stomach yesterday by an arrow from a mystery assailant, reports the New York Daily News. She was struck as she dropped off churchgoers at a Bronx nursing home. "They shot me with an arrow," she screamed as she clutched the 30-inch shaft protruding from her belly. The angle of entry indicated the arrow arced from the sky. The woman was in stable condition following surgery last night. Police were continuing to search for the archer. More»
