It's a mouthful, but it doesn't translate into a master's or doctoral degree. Instead, it signifies her completion of a three-year program—intended for "CEOs, COOs, presidents, and managing directors of companies with annual sales of at least $5 million"—consisting of one three-week session each year (going rate: $33,000 per session). Some 70 students walked out of Professor Greg Mankiw's economics class last week because he "espouses a specific and limited view of economics that we believe perpetuates problematic and inefficient systems of economic inequality in our society," said an open letter from the students. (NEWSER) - For many seniors at elite US universities, Wall Street provides a straightforward path to a job—particularly since big banks often dominate campus recruiting. But recently, fellow students and staff alike have urged graduating classes to consider a wider array of options, the Los Angeles Times reports. A nationwide campaign called “Stop the Brain Drain” is collecting student signatures to support altering campus recruiting, while professors and administrators are setting up programs to encourage seniors to expand their focus.
