(NEWSER) - Bills are in the works in at least 12 states to allow residents to buy and carry concealed weapons without a permit, USA Today reports. Gun control advocates are naturally appalled. "They want a gun in every nook and cranny in society with no permission needed," fumed a Brady Campaign official. "This is just a recipe for disaster." 'Docs vs Glocks' bill passes state senate

(NEWSER) - Doctors in Florida will be restricted from asking patients about gun ownership under a bill headed for Gov. Rick Scott's desk. The so-called "Docs versus Glocks" bill passed by the state Senate yesterday was introduced after a woman complained that her pediatrician told her to find another doctor when she refused to answer a question about guns in her home. (NEWSER) - For someone not officially running for anything, Sarah Palin spends an awful lot of time running her mouth. Among highlights from yesterday's soundbite extravaganza, as reported by the AP :

• If Obama and the Dems thought they "could get away with it, they would ban guns and ban ammunition and gut the Second Amendment," Palin, a lifelong NRA member who once had a baby shower at a gun range in Alaska, told the NRA national convention. "It's the job of all of us to stop them in their tracks."

FreedomWorks president attributed 1.5M turnout to network

(NEWSER) - The organizer of the "Tea Party" protest in Washington yesterday falsely attributed a high estimate of the turnout to ABC News, the network reports. Matt Kibbe, the head of FreedomWorks, said on stage that ABC estimated the turnout at 1 million to 1.5 million people. In a correction, ABC states that it reported the DC fire department's estimate of 60,000 to 70,000 people. More»
