(NEWSER) - A woman kidnapped and raped by Phillip Garrido unexpectedly visited the Bay Area to watch a court hearing for Garrido, who stands accused of the kidnapping and rape of Jaycee Lee Dugard. Garrido abducted and assaulted Katie Calloway Hall in 1976, but was released on parole in 1988. Hall says she wants to be a “watchdog” in the Dugard case to make sure Garrido gets what he deserves. Area cops looking to demolish home in search for evidence

(NEWSER) - Bay Area police are searching Philip Garrido’s home and adjacent properties for evidence of two kidnappings in the late 1980s similar to the abduction of Jaycee Dugard, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Nine-year-old Michaela Garecht was kidnapped in 1988 from nearby Hayward, while 13-year-old Ilene Misheloff was taken 2 months later in Dublin. Hayward and Dublin police are searching the area. "That's the one I want," he told his wife, Nancy, but he decided to wait to snatch Jaycee when she was alone, reports the Telegraph, citing law enforcement sources.
