Bo Obama to be newest White House resident

(NEWSER) - The newest Obama will be named Bo, the Washington Post reports in the latest in a series of leaks about the Portuguese water dog the first family plans to introduce to an entranced nation Tuesday. The White House tried to keep a lid on puppy information, but a blog released a picture and interview (yes, an interview) with a dog that looks just like one pictured elsewhere with the family. A look at the president's new digs

(NEWSER) - While President Obama was off vacationing in Martha's Vineyard, his iconic office got its first makeover since George W. Bush left town. Viewers can see the new Oval Office in his speech tonight. Highlights, from USA Today :

• The rug, donated by a Michigan carpet manufacturer, has historical quotes around the border, including “The Arc of the Moral Universe is Long, But it Bends Towards Justice” from Martin Luther King and “No Problem of Human Destiny is Beyond Human Beings” from John F. Kennedy. (Update: The rug is a little off on the MLK quote. Read here .)
• The walls were decorated with hand-made striped wallpaper from Amagansett, New York.

First daughters 'unbelievably well-adjusted kids': President Obama

(NEWSER) - Barack and Michelle Obama's determination to keep their daughters' daily routines as normal as life in the White House can be is paying off, the proud president says. "Malia and Sasha have just turned out to be unbelievably well-adjusted kids," Barack Obama said this morning on the Today show. "The thing that's most important to me is that they are so respectful of everybody and haven't gotten on any airs." More»
