New book reveals reasons behind lack of sex in marriage

In the cadaver of an 83-year-old. But critics aren't so sure

(NEWSER) - A semi-retired Florida gynecologist says he's found the holy grail of female sexuality: the G spot. To make his discovery, Dr. Adam Ostrzenski went to Poland—which allows dissection of fresh cadavers, unlike the US—to do a postmortem exam on an 83-year-old woman. He found, he writes in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, small clusters of erectile tissues housed in a tiny sac deep within the vaginal wall. (Possibly relevant side note: Ostrzenski has been the subject of controversy in the past because he has performed plastic surgery on women's genitalia.) More»

(NEWSER) - So maybe men don't really think about sex every seven seconds, as one famous study claimed a while back. Maybe they just think about it 18.6 times a day. And women think about it 9.9 times a day. A new study out of Ohio State University gave 283 university students golf tally counters and asked them to click whenever they thought about sex, reports the LA Times . More»

Testosterone levels drop without enough shut-eye

(NEWSER) - It's important to get a good night's sleep for lots of reasons: mood, proper cognitive functioning, and, this just in, sex. A study from the University of Chicago suggests that men who don't routinely grab quality shut-eye have less of a desire to do other things in the bedroom, the Telegraph reports. Specifically, men who get less than 5 hours' sleep a night for a week suffer a significant drop in testosterone: A sleep-deprived 25-year-old might have levels more common in a 40-year-old. More»
