• The Republican primary field is littered with hardcore ideologues. “Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Donald Trump and others might as well be on the Democratic National Committee payroll,” Nader quips.

If Bush, Cheney were criminals, Obama is too

Progressives have proved too ready to abandon Obama

(NEWSER) - Critics of Barack Obama are taking last week's confrontation by Velma Hart , a struggling middle-class black supporter, as proof that the president has lost even the support of African-American voters. Hart, who told Obama she was "still waiting for change" couldn't "have done a better job for the elephants if GOP head Michael Steele had written her statement," writes Stanley Crouch for the New York Daily News . (NEWSER) - In addition to "president," Barack Obama can already call himself an author—but now you can add "children's author" to his many hats. His Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters was written before he took office and will be released Nov. 16, the Christian Science Monitor reports. The book, according to Random House, is "a moving tribute to thirteen groundbreaking Americans and the ideals that have shaped our nation," including Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackie Robinson, and George Washington.
