An unidentified man at Courtney Wagner's home was reportedly arrested and charged with negligent discharge of a firearm. Wagner, whose dad is actor Robert Wagner, has been released on $10,000 bail. Spokesman believes it was accident by traffickers

(NEWSER) - A bag containing 36 pounds of cocaine has been seized in the mailroom of the UN's Manhattan headquarters. There was no name or address on the bag sent from Mexico City through Cincinnati, but it was stamped with a poor copy of a UN logo, which set off a security alert, reports the BBC. The shipment may have been delivered there by accident, according to a UN spokesman, who said he believes it was the "work of narcotics traffickers who were trying to ship something into the US and their plan must have gone wrong." (NEWSER) - The New York Times last month revealed that undercover US agents have laundered and smuggled millions of dollars for Mexico's drug cartels—and today the paper shines a light on one such operation, in which federal agents helped one drug trafficker and his Colombian supplier move cash and cocaine across international borders. Over a period of months in 2007, US and Mexican agents worked with that supplier—Harold Mauricio Poveda-Ortega, aka "The Rabbit"—who fed cocaine to cartel leader Arturo Beltran Levya, the New York Times reports. (NEWSER) - A 20-year-old South Carolina man died after eating an ounce of cocaine his brother was hiding in his buttocks as the two were sitting in the back of a police cruiser, authorities say. Wayne Joshua Mitchell began having difficulty breathing and collapsed an hour after his older brother begged him to eat the cocaine to save him from a prison sentence, according to video of the exchange taken in the cop car. Interception, seizure off Honduras coast a first for Coast Guard

(NEWSER) - The Coast Guard, working with FBI dive teams and the Honduran navy, has recovered 7.5 tons of cocaine worth $180 million from a drug submarine scuttled by smugglers off the coast of Honduras. The interception and seizure is the first of its kind in the Caribbean, the Miami Herald reports. Similar subs, built in jungle workshops by Colombian smugglers and designed to sink quickly when law enforcement is detected, have been stopped along Central America's Pacific coast. More»
