A Philadelphia-area couple who found service at a pub was so scarce they essentially waited on themselves and their six friends ended up in cuffs when they refused to tip their server. “I understand that, you know, we didn’t pay the gratuity,” one of the patrons tells NBC Philadelphia , “but it was a gratuity, it wasn’t something that was required.” More»

(NEWSER) - Pop-Tarts proved a key ingredient in the arrest of two young Florida men for burglary, the Orlando Sentinel reports. The pair asked a cop for a ride home early yesterday; the policeman said he had to search them first—finding a collection of high-tech gadgets and a pack of Pop-Tarts. Colombia Nabs Top Drug Lord

US will seek to extradite Daniel Rendon

(NEWSER) - Colombian police nabbed their nation's top drug lord today, and the country's president "is breathing easy," a rep told AFP. Daniel Rendon, 43, alias Don Mario, had a $2 million price on his head after allegedly swapping drugs for weapons from leftist FARC rebels. Now that he's in custody, the US will seek his extradition on drug-trafficking charges, the AP reports. More»

Mom of missing 3-year-old Caylee charged (again) for check fraud, theft

(NEWSER) - Casey Anthony was rearrested today during a routine visit to the official administering her home confinement, the Orlando Sentinel reports. The mother of missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony is charged with theft and check fraud; the new counts appear to go above and beyond previous theft and fraud charges that saw Anthony’s second arrest last week.
