(NEWSER) - If you're living with your significant other, don't worry too much about tying the knot, because it won't make you any happier, according to a new study. The study followed 2,737 single men and women for six years, watching as 896 of them either got married or moved in with a lover, Science Daily reports. The results? Both married couples and cohabitators exhibited higher levels of happiness and fewer depression symptoms than single people—but married couples didn't have an advantage over those just cohabitating. (NEWSER) - Here’s a nice Valentine’s Day story for you: A couple is spending Feb. 14 recovering after the husband allegedly stabbed his wife, then himself, with their wedding cake knife, the Hartford Courant reports. Louis DeJesus, 22, and wife Crystal were arguing Saturday night when DeJesus stabbed his wife once and himself eight times, police say—noting that the couple has been married "for some time. This wasn't (happening) at the wedding reception." Crystal DeJesus is recovering and her husband, who was charged with assault, is expected to survive ... but chances are they won’t be heading out for a romantic night on the town this evening. (NEWSER) - A New York woman went a little bit Lorena Bobbitt on her husband yesterday, allegedly pouring scalding water over his genitals as revenge for suspected cheating, the Post reports. “By the time I woke up, the skin was falling off,” says Emmanuel Ojofeitimi, who was treated for burns from his knees to his abdomen, and elsewhere.
