(NEWSER) - The founder of a $3 billion hedge fund and two other financial executives have been charged with insider trading, the Business Insider reports. Raj Rajaratnam, whose Galleon Group focuses on high tech stocks, was charged with conspiracy and fraud related to trades of Hilton and Google stock, among others. Execs from Intel Capital and McKinsey have also been charged in the in the scheme, which authorities say goes back to 2006. Rajaratnam was arrested yesterday. More»

Ceasefire ends as at least 60 wounded in bus attack

(NEWSER) - At least 26 people were killed and 60 injured after an explosion ripped through a packed bus today in Buttala, Sri Lanka. The bombing was followed by gunfire, which medical workers said was responsible for many of the dead. The attack came as the government abandoned an ineffectual ceasefire with the rebel Tamil Tigers. A second bomb later damaged an armored carrier in the same region and injured three soldiers. More»

Roadside Bomb Kills Sri Lankan Minister

Tamil separatists accused as ceasefire unravels

(NEWSER) - A minister in the Sri Lankan government was killed today when a roadside bomb struck his convoy in a suburb of Colombo. Police have accused the separatist Tamil Tigers of carrying out the attack, which would represent an escalation of violence in the longstanding civil war between the two sides.
