(NEWSER) - North Carolina pastor Charles Worley has an, er, unorthodox suggestion for how to spread God's love to gay people. "Build a great, big, large fence—150 or 100 miles long—put all the lesbians in there. Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals, and have that fence electrified so they can't get out," he suggested in a sermon last week, which was posted to YouTube today and spotted by the Huffington Post and other blogs. (NEWSER) - Kirk Cameron isn't backing down from his recent comments that homosexuality is "destructive" to civilization, and it turns out he has a bit of company in Hollywood. The Huffington Post rounds up 14 other celebrities who've been slammed for making anti-gay comments—only some of whom apologized:

• Mel Gibson: He gave an interview to a Spanish newspaper in 1991, in which he commented on gay men. "They take it up the a** ... this is only for taking a s***," he said. "With this look, who's going to think I'm gay? Do I look like a homosexual? Do I talk like them? Do I move like them?"
• Cee Lo Green: When The Voice got a bad review from a music editor, the singer and co-host tweeted in response, "I'm guessing you're gay? And my masculinity offended you? Well f--k you!" His attempt at an apology included the line, "What was homophobic about that?"

Piers Morgan grills former teen heartthrob on anti-gay-marriage views

(NEWSER) - Former sitcom star Kirk Cameron flexed his anti-gay-marriage muscle on Piers Morgan last night, the Huffington Post reports. The 1980s Growing Pains heartthrob called homosexuality "unnatural ... I think it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization." Now a "devoted follower of Jesus Christ," Cameron said God has defined marriage "a long time ago ... in the garden between Adam and Eve—one man, one woman for life till death do you part. Tennessee state Sen. Stacey Campfield not welcome, says Knoxville's Martha Boggs

(NEWSER) - Martha Boggs is being touted as a hero after kicking Tennessee GOP state Sen. Stacey Campfield out of her Knoxville restaurant last weekend. Campfield is the controversial author of the state's "Don't Say Gay" bill , and he got even more controversial in a recent interview during which he said, among other things, that AIDS came from "one guy screwing a monkey ... and then having sex with men." Lithuanian called for 'another Hitler to exterminate' gays

(NEWSER) - In Lithuania, a 37-year-old man was slapped with a fine of nearly $600 for posting on Facebook that there should be another Hitler who should kill gay people. The furniture-maker wrote the comment under an article about Lady Gaga's criticism of the Lithuanian government, reports PinkNews . A court ruled that he was guilty of inciting violence toward gays, and he has since apologized. More»
