(NEWSER) - Accused David Letterman blackmailer Robert Halderman will have that “accused” dropped today when he pleads guilty to extorting the late night host for $2 million. According to details of the deal obtained by the New York Post , Halderman will serve 6 months in jail and 4½ years of probation, and do 1,000 hours of community service; with credit for good behavior, his jail time will likely drop to 4 months. Najibullah Zazi volunteers information in exchange for leniency

(AP) - Najibullah Zazi, the key suspect in an alleged plot to attack New York City with homemade bombs, has begun cooperating with investigators and is preparing for a possible plea deal, according to two law enforcement officials. The guilty plea could come as early as today. As part of the deal, Zazi would give up information about co-conspirators in the US and Pakistan. Sources say he volunteered information in a recent sit-down with prosecutors in Brooklyn. More»
