(NEWSER) - Everybody loves Girl Scout cookies, but not everybody loves them this much: A Florida woman is in jail on charges of beating up her roommate Sunday in a dispute over Thin Mints. Hersha Howard, 31, is accused of bursting into Jasmin Wanke’s room while she slept and accusing Wanke of eating her cookies. Howard then allegedly jumped on top of Wanke and hit her in the face, chased her with a pair of scissors, struck her with a board, bit her in the breast, then hit her with a sign she found outside. Howard was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, ABC-7 reports. More»

Granny Busted for Slapping Cursing Granddaughter

'I had enough,' says grandma, 73

(NEWSER) - A Florida granny was busted for domestic violence after slapping her granddaughter for cursing out the old woman. "I am so shocked after everything that happened. I wanted to crawl into a hole and die," said Theresa Collier, 73. Cops collared Collier after her granddaughter Felicia, 18, called in a complaint. Felicia, who was expelled from her high school for cursing out a nun, was working on a computer at Collier's home when she became verbally abusive. More»

Club patron alleges Steelers WR threw a drink at her; no charges filed

(NEWSER) - Santonio Holmes, who is being sued by a woman who alleges the Steelers wide receiver hit her with a glass at a Florida nightclub, says he "didn't do anything" and expects the matter to be resolved quickly. In a suit filed last week, Anshonoe Mills says Holmes threw a drink that hit her in the face, then talked her out of pressing charges. Holmes, who has not been charged in the incident, tells ESPN : "I really don't have much to say about it because I didn't do anything." More»

Protesters who suspect the Anthonys' daughter Casey in Caylee’s disappearance threw pennies at the house’s door and windows last night, prompting a 911 call from Cindy. More»

Reservist takes Army to court over tour he says could cost him home, job

(NEWSER) - A 26-year-old sergeant is suing the army to prevent his fifth deployment to Iraq, claiming that the Army follows inconsistent policies in mobilizing reserves. The military wants reservist Erik Botta return to Iraq next week, the Miami Herald reports, but Botta is suing to stop the order he says will devastate his family, education, and career. More»
