(NEWSER) - More than 100 Texas drivers got an unexpected surprise late last month when their cars started honking inexplicably or simply stopped working. The hacker charged with causing the problems was arrested yesterday, Wired reports. Omar Ramos-Lopez used to work at the auto center that sold the cars—which were armed with a controversial device allowing them to be fiddled with remotely if customers fell behind on payments—and he allegedly abused the system as revenge after being laid off. 1937 model gathered dust in garage for 50 years

(NEWSER) - A 1937 Bugatti that sat unused for 5 decades has sold at a Paris auction for $4.5 million, the BBC reports. The family of a British doctor found the car in his garage after he died. It's one of only 17 in the world. Despite its age, the Type 57S Atalante has only 26,284 miles on it. It originally belonged to an earl. There was no information on the buyer. More»

(NEWSER) - A rare Bugatti sports car found in a late British doctor’s garage will be auctioned off next month and is expected to fetch at least $4.3 million for his surprised relatives, the AP reports. The Type 57S Atalante, built in 1937, is one of only 17 ever made. This particular car was also owned by the Earl Howe, a pillar of British racing.
