(NEWSER) - Brad Pitt was flying solo today at Cannes, but in addition to his gangster film, Killing Them Softly, Angelina Jolie was predictably a big topic of conversation. Pressed by reporters for some juicy gossip, he said his engagement to Jolie was "something that made sense," People reports. As for a wedding date, there isn't one, Pitt tells US Weekly : "It's just something that makes sense to us, and certainly date-wise, it's just a rumor," he said. The latest, per a "confidante" in Us Weekly : Brad Pitt gathered the whole family together as he presented Angelina Jolie with her brand-new engagement ring, and she "cried and smiled" as he proposed. Their six kids were similarly excited, and "everyone hugged once she put [the ring] on," the source continues. "She went around and showed it to each of the kids." (NEWSER) - Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had some good news to share with their six kids: They're engaged. The Hollywood Reporter spotted Jolie wearing a fancy new ring and got confirmation from a Beverly Hills jeweler that it's an engagement ring designed in collaboration with Pitt. After the story broke, Pitt's manager confirmed the news to People : "It's a promise for the future, and their kids are vey happy." New book gives behind-the-scenes breakup details

(NEWSER) - It's been six years, but apparently there's still an appetite out there for the scandalous details of the Brad Pitt-Jennifer Aniston divorce, as evidenced by a new book that goes behind the scenes. Mr. and Mrs. Smith producer Arnon Milchan, with whom Pitt briefly lived after splitting with Aniston, says that Jen didn't believe the Angelina Jolie-related rumors at first. "She started asking around but no one would tell her anything because they were loyal to Brad, so she asked him point blank. He denied it." (NEWSER) - Dating site AshleyMadison.com, where you can go in search of an extramarital affair, recently surveyed its members to find out which celebrities they'd most like to cheat with. Fox News reports on the findings from 30,000 US members. The women:

1. Jessica Alba: Fifteen percent of the males surveyed chose the pregnant actress as their top choice.
2. Megan Fox: 14.4%
3. Angelina Jolie: 10.5%
4. Scarlett Johansson: Fox News notes that she was "the only blonde to make the cut," receiving 10.3% of the vote.
5. Halle Berry: 7.9%
