(NEWSER) - A Delta flight en route to Costa Rica was diverted to Florida last night, after a German couple allegedly became "unruly," demanding champagne and food. Officials say Peter and Gabriele Strohmaier, who had flown into the US from Germany earlier in the day, were first-class passengers and refused to sit down during the argument. The Strohmaiers tell the AP the situation has been "exaggerated enormously" and they simply had concerns about the food and beverage service, and were never served food or even water. More»

Fellow passenger took photo of laptop to alert cops

(NEWSER) - An engineering professor from the University of Utah was busted on a Delta flight from Salt Lake City on Saturday after a fellow passenger sent a message to alert police that he was viewing child pornography on his laptop, according to investigators. A passenger behind Grant Smith in the first-class section took a photo of what appeared on Grant's computer, and emailed it to a relative with a message to contact police, reports the Boston Globe . Grant was arrested at Logan Airport in Boston, and investigators found "disturbing images of child pornography" on his computer, said a police spokesman. He has been charged with possession of child porn and will be arraigned today. He has already been placed on administrative leave by the university. More»

Robert Sayegh says he may sue

(NEWSER) - Apparently, cursing can get you kicked off a plane—as a Brooklyn man found out the hard way yesterday. After a layover in Detroit, Robert Sayegh and the rest of the passengers on Atlantic Southeast Airlines Flight 5136 had been waiting at the gate for 45 minutes. A flight attendant overheard him commenting to his seatmate, "What's taking so (expletive) long to close the overhead compartments?" The plane taxied to the runway, but then returned so police could escort Sayegh off. More»

Mom Offers to Sell Daughter's Virginity for $10K

Boyfriend turns Felicia Rae McClure in as she arranges deal for 13-year-old girl

(NEWSER) - A Salt Lake City mom has been arrested after investigators say she offered her 13-year-old daughter's virginity to a man for $10,000. Felicia Rae McClure was turned in by her boyfriend, who noticed a series of troubling texts about the pending transaction on her cellphone, say cops. McClure, 32, has admitted she was arranging the sale to a man who got a look at the teen when the mother and daughter modeled lingerie for him at Victoria's Secret, reports the Deseret News . She's been charged with four felonies—two counts of aggravated sex abuse of a child and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor—and is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail. More»
