Network just wants 20-something women: Kyle Hunter

(NEWSER) - A San Diego weatherman is suing CBS for sex and age discrimination. Kyle Hunter , who works for Fox 5, claims his job applications have been ignored by KCBS and KCAL in Los Angeles because he's not a 20-something female, reports the Daily Mail . Hunter, 40, is seeking unspecified damages for being passed over, despite his meteorology degree and years of experience. Two women with no significant weather experience were hired instead of Hunter, who wasn't even interviewed for the jobs for which he applied, according to his complaint. He's arguing that CBS wants young sexy women in weather spots to lure more male viewers. CBS calls the suit "frivolous." There was "no need for the stations to interview someone we were already well aware of," said a network statement. More»

(NEWSER) - A group of Facebook users has sued the social networking company for violating consumer privacy laws by harvesting personal information for commercial purposes and failing to compensate clients, reports CNET. "Plaintiffs and the general public desire and expect a level of privacy, which Facebook has failed to satisfy," states the California lawsuit, which includes two children, a model, photographer and actress. Facebook officials insist the case has no merit. Canadian courts are currently cracking down on Facebook's access to user data. More»

(NEWSER) - A financial firm is suing Vanity Fair photographer Annie Leibovitz for failing to cooperate to repay a $24 million loan, reports the Telegraph. Leibovitz last year put up her photographs and two homes as collateral for the money to pay off debts. But now Art Capital Group said the 59-year-old photographer is engaging in "boldly deceptive" conduct to dodge selling some of that property to begin repaying the debt. More»

Party girl testifies in court, tells judge he's 'the best ever'

(NEWSER) - Paris Hilton testified in a Miami courtroom today that she's an Aquarius, she's creative, and she promoted the 2007 clunker Pledge This! "more than I ever plugged anything in my life." The party girl/heiress defended herself against a lawsuit that claims she failed to hype the $7.5 million film, which banked only $2.9 million, NBC Miami reports. "I'm an Aquarius, so I'm very creative," she said. "I do the creativity and they do the business." More»
