(NEWSER) - Nebraskans went to the polls today, and while Mitt Romney's victory was a foregone conclusion— CNN called it early—the real race to watch was the Republican Senate primary, won by a Sarah Palin favorite. Little-known state Sen. Deb Fisher, who garnered a flurry of Tea Party endorsements after Palin backed her, edged out establishment favorite, Attorney General Jon Bruning, 41% to 36%. Former governor jumps back into arena

(NEWSER) - Bob Kerrey plans to jump back into the political fray with a run for Ben Nelson's Nebraska Senate seat, a senior Democratic aide tells the Washington Post . Kerrey, a former Nebraska governor and senator, had been floated as a possible candidate as soon as Nelson announced his retirement , but earlier this month announced that he had decided against it for family reasons. Disgraced senator says supporters don't want him to resign

(NEWSER) - Sen. John Ensign says he’ll stick with his job and run for reelection despite news of his affair and his parents’ $96,000 payment to his mistress’ family, the Las Vegas Sun reports. (NEWSER) - Republicans are slamming Nancy Pelosi for saying she felt she had no recourse when informed of harsh interrogation tactics in 2003, Politico reports. “If she felt it was wrong, she should have acted,” John McCain said. Roland Burris should resign, having used up his last shred of credibility by the time he changed his story for the fourth time yesterday—with the story getting "worse with every telling." Whether and how much he actively cooperated with then-Gov.
