Barbara Walters will greet first sitting president to join ABC chatfest

(NEWSER) - President Obama will appear on The View on Thursday, and his visit will be only the second-most-anticipated of the day: Co-host Barbara Walters will return to work for the first appearance on the ABC chatfest by a sitting president, reports Broadcasting & Cable . Walters had surgery in May to replace a heart valve and had planned to return in September. "We are so pleased and honored that President Obama will be a guest on The View," she said in a statement. (NEWSER) - The ladies of The View unseated Ellen Degeneres as Best Talk Show Host at yesterday's Daytime Emmy Awards, though they weren't at the ceremony, E! reports. Other big winners included Rachael Ray for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and Tyra Banks for Outstanding Informative Talk Show, while The Bold and the Beautiful broke a 22-year drought with a win for Outstanding Drama Series. Still bitter, but doesn't want to restart feud

(NEWSER) - The co-hosts of The View are not friends, Rosie O’Donnell says. “I'm not saying they loathe each other, but the fact of the matter is there was not a lot of camaraderie off camera,” the talkfest's onetime lightning rod says. (NEWSER) - Rosie O'Donnell may have some problems with her former View co-hosts, but she's on their side when it comes to the recent Bill O'Reilly blow-up. O'Donnell doesn't seem to fault Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg for walking off on O'Reilly : She said on her radio show, "Why would you book him?" and a member of her guest panel said he "incited hatred," PopEater reports.
