(NEWSER) - More data from the latest Gallup poll is trickling out, and—surprise, surprise!—it's not good news for President Obama. When it comes to handling the economy, his approval rating has sunk to a new low of 26%. That's down 11 percentage points since mid-May; his previous low was 35% in November 2010. A whopping 71% disapprove of his handling of the economy—a new high, ABC News notes. (NEWSER) - President Obama's approval rating has hit an all-time low, with just 39% of Americans satisfied with how he's handling his job, the latest Gallup poll has found. The poll found 54% of Americans disapprove of Obama's job performance, another bad-news record for the president, reports The Hill . Obama's approval ratings have run in the 40% range for much of this year, rising to 53% after Osama bin Laden was killed, notes the Los Angeles Times . Actual job picture much worse than official statistics indicate

(NEWSER) - Roughly 30 million Americans, almost 20% of the workforce, are either unemployed or able to find only part-time work, according to a new poll. The Gallup survey, which tallied 20,000 respondents and has a 1% margin of error, paints a far darker picture of the economic landscape than official US statistics, which peg unemployment at just under 10% and underemployment at 16.5%, Reuters reports. (NEWSER) - A new Gallup poll is the latest this week to show President Obama's approval ratings falling below 50%. Today's results, which appear to refute Rush Limbaugh's contention that Gallup's results are tilted to favor Obama, show 49% of voters approve of his handling of the presidency and 44% do not. A Quinnipiac University poll this week put Obama's approval at 48%, and a Public Policy Polling report showed a 49% figure. More»

In a new Politico/George Washington University poll , a whopping 70% say they approve of Obama personally, and 56% approve strongly. That's compared to only 29% who strongly approve of Romney. But when it came to who they'd vote for, Romney edged out Obama 48% to 47%, opened a 10-point lead among independents, and had a 6-point lead among "extremely likely" voters—all at a time, GOP analysts note , when the Republican should be weakened from the primary.
