(NEWSER) - The Minnesota Vikings have demanded that Brett Favre decide this week whether he will join the team, ESPN reports. The quarterback wanted to play for Minnesota last season, but was contractually unable. Stanford quarterback will head to Peyton Manning's old team

(NEWSER) - The Indianapolis Colts stuck to the plan tonight in the NFL draft and made Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck this year's No. 1 pick, reports the Indianapolis Star . ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that he will get a four-year deal for $22 million. That's relatively modest by NFL standards, but Bleacher Report says it's part of a trend in which "rookies are no longer getting huge contracts." More»

(NEWSER) - At last, another part of Brett Favre's anatomy is making headlines: The 41-year-old QB has a stress fracture in his left ankle that may sideline him come Sunday for the first time in 291 consecutive starts (315, counting playoff games). Favre was hit tossing the first of three interceptions yesterday in the Vikings' loss to Green Bay, and is now questionable to play New England.
