(NEWSER) - The parents of a US activist who was crushed by an Israeli military bulldozer may soon meet the operators of the machine that killed their daughter. Her parents have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Israeli government that's now moving into its second, critical, stage, and will involve Israeli state witness testimony. Israel Eases Gaza Blockade

Ban on weapons remains in force

(NEWSER) - Israel will allow goods to enter Gaza by land but will continue to ban the importation of weapons and will maintain its naval blockade on the area, CNN reports . Rather than listing what's allowed in , Israel will permit everything other than " weapons and material that Hamas uses to prepare and carry out terror ," PM Benjamin Netanyahu tells Reuters . Israel to Ease Gaza Blockade

Tony Blair brokers a deal

(NEWSER) - Israel is expected to agree to a deal brokered by Tony Blair to loosen up its much-reviled Gaza blockade today. Under the plan, Israel will create a list of prohibited goods, rather than a narrow list of approved goods that can pass its blockade, and that prohibited list won’t include building materials for UN-sponsored projects, the Guardian reports. (NEWSER) - Israel has released a revised list of goods it will allow into Gaza, one immediately denounced by Palestinians as a joke. Cement, for instance, is still a no-no, but potato chips, soft drinks, and jam are OK, reports Reuters . "They will send the first course. New flotilla en route to Gaza

(NEWSER) - Amid harsh international criticism of its deadly raid on a humanitarian aid ship headed to Gaza, Israel took a hard line yesterday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the raid and said Israel will continue its Gaza blockade. Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon declared: "We do not need to apologize for defending ourselves." The comments came as organizers of the attacked flotilla said another cargo ship is now en route to Gaza, the Los Angeles Times reports. The Turkish prime minister said the "bloody massacre" ensures that "nothing will ever be the same again" between onetime allies Turkey and Israel. More»
