Hill drives in 3 to give Blue Jays ace all the support he needs

(Newser) - Roy Halladay threw a six-hit complete game, and Aaron Hill drove in three runs to lead the Toronto Blue Jays past the Texas Rangers 4-1 last night. Marlon Byrd broke up Halladay's shutout bid with an RBI double with one out in the ninth. Halladay (2-1) struck out six, walked one and threw 109 pitches for his 32nd complete game. More »

In a night of oddities, Texas posts 29 hits and 2 grand slams

(Newser) - The Rangers punished the Orioles 30-3 last night in MLB's first 30-run performance in 110 years, the AP reports. Though short of the big-league record for most runs in a game--Chicago routed Louisville 36-7 on Jun 28, 1897--Texas' mark is the best in American League history.
