      Trevor Hoffman blew another save and the San Francisco Giants went on to beat the slumping San Diego Padres 3-2 in 13 innings last night. Rookie Emmanuel Burriss doubled leading off the 13th and scored the go-ahead run for the Giants. The rally came four innings after Hoffman couldn't hold the lead for what would have been Greg Maddux's 350th career victory. More »

      Tim Lincecum pitched seven sharp innings and beat St. Louis for the second time in a week, leading the San Francisco Giants over the Cardinals 3-0 today. Aaron Rowand hit a solo home run and an RBI single as the Giants ended a three-game losing streak. Lincecum (3-0) gave up six hits and struck out five in his 10th major league victory,  three of those against St. Louis. More »

      The three surviving original members of the Beach Boys have smoothed out a years-long legal disagreement, Reuters reports. Mike Love and the record company part-owned by Brian Wilson had sued founding member Al Jardine over his unauthorized use of the Beach Boys name for tours. With good vibrations now flowing again, a reunion could be on the cards. More »
