Jeremy Roenick didn't come out of semiretirement for just one playoff round. The veteran San Jose center carried the Sharks one step closer to the Stanley Cup Tuesday night. Roenick had two goals and two assists, including the tying and go-ahead scores midway through the Sharks' four-goal second period in a 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames in Game 7, finishing their first-round playoff series.

Miika Kirpusoff made 21 saves, as Owen Nolan and Daymond Langkow both scored to lead the Calgary Flames over the San Jose Sharks 2-0 last night to force a Game 7. The decisive match Tuesday will be the first Game 7 the Sharks have hosted in franchise history after playing five on the road. San Jose was scoreless on the power play.

Patrick Marleau and Jonathan Cheechoo made sure San Jose wouldn't squander the momentum gained in Calgary, moving the Sharks within one win of a fourth straight trip to the second round of the playoffs. Marleau scored the tiebreaking goal late in the second period, while Cheechoo added two more in the third sending the Sharks to a 4-3 victory over the Flames last night.

Joe Thornton's first goal of playoffs was a big one. Thornton scored the winner with just 9.4 seconds left in regulation to give the San Jose Sharks a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames in Game 4 on Tuesday night, evening their first-round series. Thornton tipped Douglas Murray's shot from the point past Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff to win a game the Sharks trailed twice.

Owen Nolan scored with 3:45 left as the Calgary Flames rallied from a three-goal deficit early in the first period and beat the San Jose Sharks 4-3 Sunday night. Ryane Clowe, Patrick Marleau and Doug Murray scored in the first 3:33 against Miikka Kiprusoff. Veteran backup Curtis Joseph then replaced Kiprusoff and shut down the Sharks the rest of way.

Nabokov made 21 saves in his sixth career postseason shutout, and rookie Torrey Mitchell scored a power-play goal in the Sharks' 2-0 victory over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night, evening their first-round series at a game apiece.

Stephane Yelle scored two goals, Miikka Kiprusoff made 37 saves and the seventh-seeded Flames stunned the NHL's second-best regular season team in their first-round opener, beating the Sharks 3-2 on Wednesday night. Jarome Iginla scored his 50th goal and added two assists as the Calgary Flames finished the regular season with a 7-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks last night. Eric Nystrom scored his second goal with 1:42 left, and also added two assists, including the cross-crease feed for Iginla's milestone goal with 7:25 left, giving Calgary's captain 50 goals for a second time, and a career-best 98 points.

Marian Gaborik and the Minnesota Wild won the Northwest Division at home, and that's where they'll start the playoffs. Gaborik scored two third-period goals to help the Wild beat the Calgary Flames 3-1 tonight for the first division title in franchise-history.
