(Newser) - Miika Kirpusoff made 21 saves, as Owen Nolan and Daymond Langkow both scored to lead the Calgary Flames over the San Jose Sharks 2-0 last night to force a Game 7. (Newser) - Patrick Marleau and Jonathan Cheechoo made sure San Jose wouldn't squander the momentum gained in Calgary, moving the Sharks within one win of a fourth straight trip to the second round of the playoffs. San Jose evens first round series with Calgary at 2-2

(Newser) - Joe Thornton's first goal of playoffs was a big one. Thornton scored the winner with just 9.4 seconds left in regulation to give the San Jose Sharks a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames in Game 4 on Tuesday night, evening their first-round series. Thornton tipped Douglas Murray's shot from the point past Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff to win a game the Sharks trailed twice. More »

Nolan knocks in winner with 3:45 left after Calgary falls behind 3-0

(Newser) - Owen Nolan scored with 3:45 left as the Calgary Flames rallied from a three-goal deficit early in the first period and beat the San Jose Sharks 4-3 Sunday night. Ryane Clowe, Patrick Marleau and Doug Murray scored in the first 3:33 against Miikka Kiprusoff. Veteran backup Curtis Joseph then replaced Kiprusoff and shut down the Sharks the rest of way. More »

(Newser) - The Calgary Flames are off to a fine playoff start, and the San Jose Sharks can start worrying again. Stephane Yelle scored two goals, Miikka Kiprusoff made 37 saves and the seventh-seeded Flames stunned the NHL's second-best regular season team in their first-round opener, beating the Sharks 3-2 on Wednesday night. Eric Nystrom scored his second goal with 1:42 left, and also added two assists, including the cross-crease feed for Iginla's milestone goal with 7:25 left, giving Calgary's captain 50 goals for a second time, and a career-best 98 points. Minnesota earns first-round home ice for playoffs

(Newser) - Marian Gaborik and the Minnesota Wild won the Northwest Division at home, and that's where they'll start the playoffs. Gaborik scored two third-period goals to help the Wild beat the Calgary Flames 3-1 tonight for the first division title in franchise-history.
