      Daniel Alfredsson made sure the Ottawa Senators stayed atop the Eastern Conference by scoring with 3.2 seconds left in overtime in a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins today, reports the Associated Press. The Senators, who have led the conference since winning 13 of their first 14 games, were in danger of falling behind New Jersey and Pittsburgh. More »

      Evgeni Malkin extended his point streak to eight games today as Pittsburgh beat the Sabres 4-1. The Penguins center contributed a goal and an assist in the win, as the team moved into a tie with New Jersey for first place in the Atlantic Division.
