      (AP) - A man dressed in camouflage clothing walked out of the woods in northern Wisconsin woods yesterday and opened fire on four young people who had gathered at a river to go swimming, killing three of them, the AP reports.       (Newser) - A gunman opened fire at a Knoxville, Tenn., Unitarian church today, killing two and wounding seven others before he was subdued, CNN reports.       (Newser) - Three people were wounded yesterday when a gunman involved in a child custody battle opened fire on his ex-girlfriend at a church school festival in San Fernando Valley, reports the Los Angeles Times . Families ran screaming as the gunman nonchalantly lifted his rifle and began squeezing off rounds in front of his 9-year-old son. Two bystanders tackled him and held him for police.       (Newser) - Memphis police collared a man yesterday and charged him in a mass killing that shocked the city last weekend. Jessie Dotson, 33, allegedly shot his brother Cecil, 30, in an argument and then murdered five possible witnesses. “When Jessie left, he believed everyone in the home was dead,” a police director said. “But as we know, through the grace of God, three children survived.” More »

      (Newser) - Five children and three adults were wounded yesterday when a gunman opened fire on a crowded South Los Angeles bus stop minutes after classes ended at a nearby middle school. The school was locked down as police hunted for the shooter, who fired some 15 rounds into the crowd with a semiautomatic gun. Investigators were still hunting for him last night.
