(Newser) - Joe Sakic added another line to his amazing playoff resume. Sakic tipped in a shot by Ruslan Salei from the point midway through the first overtime period, his eighth career playoff goal in extra time, to send the Colorado Avalanche past the Minnesota Wild 3-2 on Wednesday night. (Newser) - Wojtek Wolski and Joe Sakic scored shootout goals for Colorado as they beat the Minnesota Wild 4-3 today, setting up a first-round playoff matchup between the teams. (Newser) - The Edmonton Oilers got exactly what they needed today with a 7-5 win over the Colorado Avalanche, reports the Associated Press, as Edmonton's 11th win in 14 games moved the Oilers within three points of the Avalanche for the final playoff spot in the West. (Newser) - Three different Minnesota players scored as the Wild topped the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 and gained sole possession of first place in the Northwest Division. Minnesota has a two-point lead over second place Calgary and Colorado. The Wild sorely needed this victory against their division rival, after losing nine of their previous 13 contests overall, according to the Associated Press. More »
