Orlando star goes for 52nd double-double as Randolph sits out

(Newser) - The best thing to happen to Dwight Howard last night actually happened Friday night. Someone stepped on Zach Randolph's foot, and the New York Knicks big man couldn't play against the Orlando Magic. That left the middle open for Howard, who scored 26 points and grabbed 22 rebounds in a 118-92 win, reports the Associated Press. The Magic are 3-0 against the Knicks. More »

Bryant's 30 points lift Los Angeles to ninth straight win

(Newser) - Kobe Bryant's injured  pinkie finger looked just fine last night as the Los Angeles Lakers superstar scored 30 points to lead the Lakers to a 96-83 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, reports AP. The win is the ninth in a row for LA, which at 40-17 is tops in the tough Western Conference. The Blazers have lost eight of nine. More »
