Drew, the subject of intense scrutiny in the unsolved case, reiterated that he thought Stacy ran off with another man, leaving behind their two young children. Mad guru maintains that money is safer out of Wall Street

(Newser) - Jim Cramer returned to NBC's Today Show to dismiss viewer attacks that he yelled "fire in a crowded building" by advising they pull out of Wall Street any money they need in the short term. "What happens if there is one raging?" he retorted. The "innate optimist," who maintains that the "stock market is a good place," adds that he is "not so arrogant" to think he caused yesterday's plunge. More »

Deal would mark watershed for mother
of network news

(Newser) - CBS, the network of Ed Murrow and Walter Cronkite that is widely credited with inventing television news, is considering outsourcing some of its news gathering activities to CNN, according to the New York Times. No deal is imminent but talks are reportedly taking place at the highest level at both networks. CBS denied negotiations were under way. More »

Iconic 1990s boy band announces reunion

(Newser) - To a familiar chorus of shrieking, onetime superstar boy band New Kids on the Block appeared from behind a curtain and made it official this morning on the Today show: They're back. The now-30something teen idols confirmed rampant reunion rumors and said they've been working on a new album since August and plan a world tour, MSNBC reports. More »

(Newser) - In a performance to mark the 20th anniversary of their hit album Hangin' Tough, the New Kids on the Block will reunite Friday to perform on the "Today Show," a source tells People magazine . The boy band sold more than 50 million records before returning to civilian life in 1994. More »

(Newser) - Kathie Lee Gifford will rejoin morning TV on April 7, Variety reports, as a co-host of the fourth hour of NBC’s Today . Gifford, 54, will share duties with Hoda Kotb. Her kids grown, Gifford wrote on her website she's keen to return to the small screen "8 years older, 10 pounds heavier, a half-inch shorter, just in time for HD television." More »

Suspect in wife's disappearance says he's innocent, but is 'prepared' for arrest

(Newser) - Drew Peterson, the ex-cop suspected in the disappearance of his fourth wife, said today he is psychologically ready for arrest and even time behind bars, the Chicago Tribune reports. On NBC’s Today show, Peterson maintained his innocence in the October disappearance of Stacy Peterson and in the 2004 murder of his third wife, whose bathtub drowning was recently reclassified as homicide. Today show apologizes for on-air slip, decency watchdogs want delay

(Newser) - Today host Meredith Vieira got an unpleasant  shock yesterday when Jane Fonda let the C-word slip while discussing the Vagina Monologues, the New York Daily News reports. "It was a slip, and obviously she apologizes, and so do we," Vieira told viewers. Fonda's blooper came when she was asked why she'd originally turned down a role in the play. She "was just quoting the title of her scene," her spokeswoman noted. "She meant no disrespect." More »

Woman nearly kicked off flight bares all

(Newser) - Kyla Ebbert's outfits just keeping getting skimpier. The 23-year-old California woman who nearly got booted from a Southwest Airlines flight because she wore clothes deemed too revealing has now posed for Playboy in the nude. "They're very tastefully done," she said of the photos. Southwest holds no grudges. "We wish her all the best," said a spokesman. More »

(Newser) - A San Diego co-ed (and Hooters employee) nearly got kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight for showing too much skin. A  flight attendant called Kyla Ebbert to the front of the plane and asked her to change out of her 'revealing attire' or take a later flight. Ebbert brokered a compromise and remained aboard, but now she may sue Southwest over the ordeal, ABC reports. More »

Garden State beauty queen keeps her crown despite Facebook leak

(Newser) - Miss New Jersey can keep her tiara, say pageant officials who ruled unanimously that risqué photos of the beauty queen leaked from her Facebook page aren't that bad. The images, which Amy Polumbo revealed on the Today Show yesterday, contained no nudity or underage drinking, but did show Polumbo in some mildly suggestive positions. More »
