(Newser) - The Sharks just won't go away _ and now they're going back to Dallas. Joe Pavelski scored 65 seconds into overtime and San Jose evaded playoff elimination for the second straight game Friday, improbably rallying from a late two-goal deficit to beat Dallas 3-2 in Game 5. Victory Over Flames 

San Jose leads series 3-2

(Newser) - Patrick Marleau and Jonathan Cheechoo made sure San Jose wouldn't squander the momentum gained in Calgary, moving the Sharks within one win of a fourth straight trip to the second round of the playoffs. Marleau scored the tiebreaking goal late in the second period, while Cheechoo added two more in the third sending the Sharks to a 4-3 victory over the Flames last night. More »

Blue Jackets top Red Wings, Panthers over Thrashers

(Newser) - Backup goalie Dwayne Roloson brought his A-game today as Edmonton bested San Jose in a shootout, 2-1. The Oilers ended a franchise-record 11-game winning streak for the Sharks. Ales Hemsky scored the lone goal for Edmonton in regulation, while Robert Nilsson and Fernando Pisani were credited with goals in the shootout. (Newser) - Dominik Hasek returned from a three-week layoff thanks to a hip injury, and was greeted with a goal by Joe Pavelski on the first shot he faced in a 3-2 home loss to San Jose. Rookie Devin Setoguchi, called up from the minors on Thursday, had the Sharks' other two goals as they won their fourth straight on their road trip. More »
