      Lieberman Calls on Google to Cut Terrorist Clips

      (Newser) - Sen. Joseph Lieberman yesterday urged Google to crack down on YouTube videos aimed at spreading terrorist messages, AP reports. The Connecticut senator cited al-Qaeda-produced clips that “show attacks on US forces in which American soldiers are injured and, in some cases, killed.” Google relies heavily on users to police the site, to which hundreds of thousands of videos are submitted daily.       Carter Meets With Hamas Chief

      (Newser) - Jimmy Carter met today with Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal despite protests from the US State Department and the Israeli government. A Hamas deputy told the AP the agenda would include strategies to calm tensions between Israel and Hamas, as well as the fate of a kidnapped Israeli soldier.       (Newser) - China has rooted out two terrorist groups plotting to kidnap Olympic athletes and attack tourist hotels during the games, the Ministry of Public Security announced today. Chinese forces rounded up 45 suspects and seized explosives and “jihadist” literature in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang.
