      Bomb Damages San Diego Courthouse

      (Newser) - In what could be the work of a serial bomber, a multi-pipe bomb exploded yesterday at a San Diego courthouse, shattering its door and blasting shrapnel across the street, ABC News reports. No one was hurt in the predawn explosion. The FBI is investigating the incident, which follows a similar bombing in the city last month that destroyed the door of a Federal Express building.       (Newser) - UN police trying to retake a courthouse were forced to withdraw from the Kosovo city of Mitrovica after clashes with ethnic Serbs, reports the BBC. NATO troops were left in charge of security after the worst violence since Kosovo declared independence; AFP reported at least 100 police and protesters were injured in struggles that included rocks, tear gas, and at least one grenade blast.       Jailed Woman Left for 4 Days

      (Newser) - An illegal immigrant was forgotten in a courthouse holding cell in Springdale, Ark. for 4 days without food, water, or a toilet, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports. With only sparse furniture and a lightbulb in her cell, Adriana Torres-Flores slept on the floor and drank her own urine to survive. The bailiff who forgot about her until yesterday is now “a broken man,” the county sheriff said. More »
