Cardinals on brink of sending Pitino to a sixth Final Four

(Newser) - Rick Pitino improved to 8-0 in regional semifinals and has Louisville one win away from the Final Four after a 79-60 win over Tennessee last night, reports the Associated Press. Pitino mixed up his defenses throughout the game to shut down the high-powered offense of the No. 2-seeded Volunteers. Cardinals trounce Oklahoma, 78-48

(Newser) - The Big East sent more teams to the NCAA tournament than any other conference this year, and will have as many as any conference in the Regional Semifinals, too, as three of the eight remain. Louisville is among them, after annihilating No. 6 seed Oklahoma, 78-48. The Cardinals led 44-22 at halftime when they ended the first half with a 26-8 run. That trend continued in the second. (Newser) - What’s a team to do when their opponent drops 12 3-pointers and shoots almost 56% from the floor? If you’re Boise State, not too much. The Broncos were routed by the Louisville Cardinals in an NCAA first round matchup last night, 79-61, reports the AP. Boise State entered the game ranked second in the nation in shooting.
