      (Newser) - Chien-Ming Wang shut down Cleveland for seven innings and outpitched C.C. Sabathia, whose lone mistake turned into a homer by Melky Cabrera, to help the New York Yankees end a three-game slide with a 1-0 win over the Indians on Sunday. Wang (5-0) allowed four hits, struck out a season-high nine. Only one Cleveland runner reached third against the right-hander. More »

      (Newser) - Trevor Hoffman blew another save and the San Francisco Giants went on to beat the slumping San Diego Padres 3-2 in 13 innings last night. Rookie Emmanuel Burriss doubled leading off the 13th and scored the go-ahead run for the Giants. The rally came four innings after Hoffman couldn't hold the lead for what would have been Greg Maddux's 350th career victory. More »

Hoffman, baseball's career leader with 526 saves, also picked up the loss on Tuesday when he blew a save against Houston. More »
