      Monroe Homer Lifts Twins Past Tigers

      (Newser) - Craig Monroe hit a two-run homer off Justin Verlander and Brian Bass picked up his first major league win in relief of injured starter Scott Baker, leading the Minnesota Twins to a 4-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers last night. Bass (1-0) allowed three hits in four scoreless innings, Pat Neshek and Jesse Crain combined to work the eighth, and Joe Nathan pitched the ninth for his 10th save. More »

After striking out with a runner on second in the eighth inning, Morneau singled home Brendan Harris in the 10th, lifting the Minnesota Twins to a 2-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Sunday. Morneau is hitting just .269 this season, but is 9-for-15 (.600) with 12 RBIs with runners in scoring position. More »

Just as the inquest was winding down, the coroner received an email saying a new blood sample from Diana's driver had turned up in Paris.
