      White Sox Salvage Split With Orioles

      (Newser) - Brian Anderson hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth last night to give the Chicago White Sox a 6-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles and a split of their day-night doubleheader. Baltimore captured the opener when Brian Burres, who faced one batter before Friday night's rainout, came back this afternoon and allowed just three singles in eight shutout innings to lead a 5-1 Orioles' victory. Konerko's homer came in the third off Kenny Rogers and Crede's grand slam, his second this season, came in the fifth against Zach Miner as the White Sox won for the fifth time in six games over Detroit.
