New Line Cinema will produce a romantic comedy based on hockey star Sean Avery’s summer internship at Vogue , the Hollywood Reporter notes. “I think it's great to be into something that you care about,” the fashion-savvy Avery said of his apparently odd choice of off-season employment. “But I’m still an athlete who likes to beat the crap out of people.”

An Italian priest's plans for a nun beauty pageant have been nixed by his higher-ups, the BBC reports. Weil, the Henry Ford of Western shirts who was thought to be the oldest working CEO, died yesterday at age 107, the Denver Post reports. “Papa Jack,” as he was known in the Denver community, popularized the Western shirt as we know it. The sawtooth pocket and diamond snap design of his Rockmount Ranch Wear apparel is the longest continuous style produced in the country.

Levi Strauss is revamping its signature button-fly 501 jeans with a one-size-fits-all philosophy and launching its first global marketing campaign, the Wall Street Journal reports.
