(Newser) - Ty Conklin had a career-best 50 saves in the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2 victory over the New York Islanders. Jeff Taffe had a goal and an assist for the Penguins, who were short several men because of blockbuster trade. (Newser) - Zach Parise and Brian Gionta helped the New Jersey Devils cool off the red-hot New York Islanders today in a 4-2 win, reports the Associated Press. Parise scored a tie-breaking goal in the third period, and Gionta added an insurance goal for the Devils, who snapped the Islanders six-game winning streak. Zajac leads with goal and assist

(Newser) - An outstanding effort by Travis Zajac led the New Jersey Devils to victory over the Carolina Hurricanes 5-1 this afternoon, the AP reports. Zajac scored the Devils’ first goal at 2:02 and later assisted Mike Mottau for a goal, when Mottau knocked in the rebound on a near-miss. Dupuis goal ends shootout with a 4-3 Atlanta win

(Newser) - It took 10 rounds, but the Atlanta Thrashers were finally able to beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 last night, reports the Associated Press. Pascal Dupuis snuck the winner past Martin Brodeur, who had 29 saves before the shootout.  The Devils appeared on their way to a 3-2 win, but Marian Hossa scored with 18.1 seconds left to force overtime.
