      Mark Kotsay knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning with a two-out RBI double, and the Atlanta Braves edged the Oakland Athletics 3-2 Friday night for their eighth straight home victory. The Braves gave up a total of only three runs in defeating the Dodgers three times. Atlanta's last sweep over Los Angeles came in a three-game set in April 2000. More »

Just hours after coming back from the minors, James allowed one run in five innings and the Atlanta bullpen shut down the Dodgers, leading the Braves past Los Angeles 4-1 today for their third straight victory. Mark Teixeira's two-run single highlighted a four-run fifth that accounted for all the Atlanta scoring and handed James (1-1) the win. More »
