LeBron James had 34 points and 12 rebounds, and dished the ball to Delonte West for a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 5.4 seconds left Sunday, helping the Cavaliers get past the Wizards 100-97 to take a 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series. Cleveland led by 15 in the third quarter, but Washington came back, with Gilbert Arenas capping the rally.

Maybe Gilbert Arenas was talking about some other Cavaliers. The Cleveland team he and the Washington Wizards faced Monday night doesn't look so beatable. LeBron James scored 30 points, Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 16, and the Cavaliers played their best game in months, blowing out Arenas and Co. 116-86.

The Washington Wizards' backups were more than enough to eliminate the very sub-.500 Indiana Pacers from the playoff race, 117-110 Monday. Coach Eddie Jordan went to his bench early and often, getting 31 points from Roger Mason, 14 from rookie Nick Young and little resistance from the Pacers' defense. The Wizards never trailed.

Gilbert Arenas finally looked like Agent Zero again, just in time for the Washington Wizards to put the Philadelphia 76ers out of reach. After another passive performance typical of his play since returning from a knee injury, Arenas took over the game by scoring 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter tonight in a 109-93 victory over the 76ers.

Antawn Jamison returned from a shoulder injury to score 27 points, including a highlight dunk over Kevin Garnett, and the Washington Wizards beat the Boston Celtics 109-95 Wednesday night to win the season series over the league's top team. Gilbert Arenas, in his third game back from knee surgery, added 13 points on 5-for-14 shooting in a relatively low-key 24 minutes.

Antawn Jamison missed his second straight game with a sprained right shoulder and Gilbert Arenas rested his surgically repaired left knee for precautionary reasons, but Haywood and Butler picked up the slack. The Bulls got 18 points from Ben Gordon and 16 from Larry Hughes.

The Mavericks had won all six home games of this young season until Caron Butler led a hot Washington team into Dallas. The former UConn standout scored 35 points as the Wizards handed the Mavericks a 110-98 defeat. Dirk Nowitzki did all he could, recording 31 points, eight rebounds and six assists, but the rest of the team struggled, reports the AP.

Gilbert Arenas, the hot-shooting Washington guard sportswriters are now legally required to describe as "quirky," is out for 2 to 3 months with a knee injury. Unless he recovers and the Wizards reach the NBA Finals minus both him (their leading scorer) and fellow All-Star Caron Butler (out six weeks with a broken hand), he will not play again this season.
