      Major League clubhouses are not what they used to be, reports Detroit Tigers reliever Todd Jones on his blog for the Sporting News. Years ago, players used to arrive late and leave even later after games, sometimes hanging out together til 3 in the morning. Now players arrive way earlier than needed and leave right after the game. Issues with the team are settled before the game rather than in long bull sessions after. More »

      Kenny Rogers pitched into the seventh inning and Ivan Rodriguez had three hits and drove in a pair of runs to help the Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees 6-5 tonight.       After young flamethrower Joel Zumaya seriously injured his shoulder moving boxes in the recent California wildfires, the Tigers needed to find a closer. Fortunately, Todd Jones was willing to re-sign with the team. With Zumaya out until mid-season the club offered Jones, who saved 75 games over the past two seasons, a one-year, $7 million contract, reports the Detroit News . More »
