      In the race to host the 2016 Olympic Games, Chicago looks like a long shot.Late last month the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) narrowed the list of hopefuls to three, selecting Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco and eliminating Houston and Philadelphia. The USOC will decide by year's end whether or not it will nominate a U.S. city to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and then choose which city by the end of March 2007. The IOC will pick a host city in 2009.Last month, USOC Chairman Peter Ueberroth said all three finalists' plans need work. Chicago's may need the most.
