Star power dominated the NBA trade headlines in the 2007-2008 season. The one time bottom dwelling Boston Celtics rose back to power with the first major trade of the season landing Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, now a favorite to win the NBA. The Lakers upgraded themselves back to contender status by acquiring Pau Gasol without losing a single critical player. Will we see a return to the glory days Lakers versus Celtics?

      (Newser) - The Detroit Pistons have agreed to acquire guard Allen Iverson from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for guard Chauncey Billups and forward Antonio McDyess, the Detroit Free Press reports. The 33-year-old Iverson, a former league MVP with a reputation as a malcontent, hasn’t helped Denver get deep into the playoffs, as the team expected when it acquired him from Philadelphia in 2006. Kidd came two assists and a rebound shy of a triple-double as the Mavericks topped the Bulls, 102-94; he notched an assist on Dallas's first offensive possession, to the crowd's loud delight.       The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Thursday that the team has acquired 6-6 guard Kirk Snyder, a 2010 second-round draft pick and cash considerations from the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard Gerald Green.

      The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have acquired guard/forward Bonzi Wells, guard Mike James, and cash considerations from the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard Adam Haluska, guard Bobby Jackson, forward Marcus Vinicius and a 2008 second round pick. As part of the three-team deal, the Memphis Grizzlies will receive Vinicius, the rights to Malick Badiane and cash considerations in exchange for the rights to Sergei Lishouk.
