(Newser) - Josef Fritzl has been charged with murder in the death of one of the seven children he had with his daughter Elisabeth, the Telegraph reports. Austrian prosecutors say he failed to provide medical care to the child, who fell ill shortly after birth. He later burned the child's body in a furnace. Fritzl, 73, also faces charges of rape, enslavement, incest, coercion and deprivation of liberty. More »

(Newser) - Convicted murderer Scott Peterson has been sending letters to Casey Anthony from death row in California, the Orlando Sentinel reports. It’s not clear whether Anthony, jailed in Florida after being charged with the murder of 3-year-old daughter Caylee, has responded to Peterson, who was sentenced to death for killing his pregnant wife in 2005, but Anthony’s lawyer said today she had not. Anthony was previously only labeled a "person of interest" in the case of the missing girl, who is believed to be dead. "Casey is a suspect," said a sheriff's department spokesman. (Newser) - A Maryland woman is being held without bail after admitting she stored the corpses of her adopted 9- and-11-year old daughters in a basement freezer, WBAL TV reports. Police came to her house after a third daughter was found wandering the streets, covered in cuts and bruises. The woman has been charged with child abuse. (AP) - Neil Entwistle showed no reaction today as he was sentenced to two life prison terms without the opportunity for parole for shooting his wife and infant daughter as they cuddled together in bed.
