We are not that stupid!

The problem with political coverage is real .. and yet, mainstream media happily ignores how poor a job they do. The American pubic is NOT stupid - how about treating us with some respect? Is it possible to have actual jounalists report on things that matter - or is politics doomed to be just a variation on "Entertaiment tonight"

During the PA debate last night the game that politics has become was so in evidence that it made me want to again turn away from the process. Oh no, says Senator Clinton - it's not ME .. it's that I have been in this caludron for 16 years and I can take it and dish it out just like those evil republicans will do in the general election. Oh please, THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PROCESS. Americans are totally sick and tired of being treated like children - we have brains, respect that and stop being jerks within the process - stop trying to distract us with endless focus on gaffes - or for goodness sake now this morning "news" breaks on something Hillary said in 1995. I personally really enjoyed Senator Obama nailing George (Who was a HORRID moderator - this man is in no way a journallist!) with (paraphrasing) how can I be held to acount for something that happend 40 years ago WHEN I WAS 8 YEARS OLD ! Can we move to ISSUES that matter and STOP this -Please!

'Screw 'Em,' Hillary Said of Working-Class Whites in '95

(Newser) - Hillary Clinton has criticized Barack Obama for talking down to low-income voters, but the Huffington Post digs up a quote from 1995 that appears to offer a different stance. Strategizing on how to win back working-class voters in the South, she told her husband: "Screw 'em. You don't owe them a thing, Bill. They're doing nothing for you; you don't have to do anything for them." More »

      ABC Debate Hosts 'Shoddy, Despicable'

(Newser) - No winner emerged in last night's Democratic presidential debate, but for one columnist the loser was clear: ABC News. Over the course of a commercial-crammed broadcast, moderators Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopolous dwelled on petty half-controversies to incite Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to get nasty, writes Tom Shales of the Washington Post . • In Pa. Debate, The Clear Loser Is ABC

When Barack Obama met Hillary Clinton for another televised Democratic candidates' debate last night, it was more than a step forward in the 2008 presidential election. It was another step downward for network news -- in particular ABC News, which hosted the debate from Philadelphia and whose...

I you can stand to read it & I'd encourage you to either watch it (you Tube has it all) or read it because you should make up your own mind and NOT reply on "pundit filtering" . Besides here is my favorite line and I doubt it will be the clip anyone uses although it nails things quite succiently .... "And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn't make much sense, George." Truer words rarely spoken in the political arena - ARE WE AWAKE ??? DOESN'T MAKE...
