    • Home For Christmas - the 26th Annual Christmas Parade

      Christmas Season started in earnest yesterday with the 26th Annual Christmas Parade. The theme was "Home for Christmas" and the chosen Grand Marshalls were returning Operation Iraqi Freedom Veterans from our community. One hundred and one entries traveled the parade route starting at Willis along Cortez, up to Goodwin Street, across to Montezuma and back down to Willis. Thousands of people lined the blocks to enjoy the parade and the gorgeous sunny weather.

      Want to talk about exciting? You should have been at the Rhinos game Friday night at Bradshaw Mountain High School. Although they didn't come away with the 'W', they played well and they played hard in their first official game as a new franchise in the American Basketball Association.

    • Holiday cards raise funds for Prescott park

      This year, the Friends of J. S. Acker will continue their 14 year fundraising tradition by selling Prescott-themed holiday greeting cards to fund enhancements and support activities at Prescott's Acker Park. Over the years, with the support of local residents, the organization has been able to raise over $25,000. The 2008 card features a freshly fallen snow over 'P' Mountain, Watson Lake and the scenic Granite Dells with a message of "Peace on Earth from Prescott, AZ."

    • Prescott Tunes-up for Acker Musical Showcase

      Known simply as "Acker Night" in the Prescott community, The J.S. Acker Musical Showcase has become a highlight of the holiday season and one of Prescott's favorite hometown events. This free, annual, holiday event showcases the many talented musicians in the Prescott area in a most unique way. More than 80 downtown businesses open their doors to host musical groups of every genre, turning Prescott's downtown into a veritable smorgasboard of entertainment for the thousands of patrons who come out to enjoy the event each year.

    • Prescott Holiday Light Parade

      Thousands lined downtown streets to help Prescott kick off the Holiday season with its annual Holiday Light Parade. On hand to judge the entries were Prescott City Councilwoman Mary Ann Suttles, Elizabeth Ruffner and Marilyn Bartmess Henze. Unisource Energy's entry took Grand Prize in addition to 1st place in the Commercial and Most Creative categories. The Unisource entry consisted of a traditonal float which was circled by four miniture floats as it traveled the parade route.
