American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, widely rumored to be gay, is finally coming out. A source tells the New York Post he’ll make it official on the next Rolling Stone cover. Meanwhile, Idol judge Kara DioGuardi seemed pretty certain of Lambert’s sexuality during her appearance on The View today, Perez Hilton reports: “I don't think that Adam was ever in (the closet). I think he was always openly out."

Asked if he'll address the matter at some point, he responded, "Maybe," reports People . In the meantime, Lambert says, "it's a really, really cool thing to be able to show people that you can be yourself ... and never make apologies for it."

Britain's unlikely singing sensation Susan Boyle, the frumpy church volunteer who wowed the world with her angelic voice, was today voted into the next round of a TV talent show that propelled her to global fame. Cowell and his fellow "Britain's Got Talent" judges said Boyle is among 40 performers they've selected to advance in the competition. Bookmaker William Hill makes Boyle a runaway favorite to win the final on May 30.

Yesterday, Clay Aiken dismissed fellow American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert as “contrived, awful, and slightly frightening!” But today, Aiken is apologizing for his “colorful (and negative) choice of words,” the New York Daily News reports. “I hope he can forgive me,” Aiken wrote in a lengthy blog post. “I imagine he doesn't give a damn! God knows he shouldn't.”

Former American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken finds this year’s runner-up, Adam Lambert, “slightly frightening.” Aiken trashed Idol in a post on his blog yesterday, Gawker reports, and Lambert did not escape unscathed. Aiken says he watches Idol only once a season, and “this year, I happened to turn it during the minute Adam Lambert was singing ‘Ring of Fire’ and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed.”

The Idol judge says Ladies' Home Journal got it all wrong: She now insists she was never addicted to painkillers, and she never checked into a rehab facility, E! reports. “It was very stressful for me to hear that and to be quoted saying something I never said,” Abdul told a radio station today. “I've never checked into a rehab clinic. Paula Abdul tells the Ladies' Home Journal she was addicted to heavy-duty painkillers for 12 years until she kicked the habit last November. Abdul insists, however, that she never shot an American Idol episode while under the influence. The 46-year-old turned to prescription meds—which made her act "weird"—to fight debilitating pain after a series of neck and back surgeries. "I didn't want anyone to count me out," she said.

American Idol winner David Cook lost his brother Adam to cancer yesterday, People reports. Cook announced Adam’s death today at a Race for Hope benefit run for brain cancer research in Washington, DC. "I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now," Cook told the crowd. His brother had battled cancer for years.
