      (Newser) - Carlos Zambrano pitched five-hit ball over seven innings, Derrek Lee drove in three runs and the Chicago Cubs beat the Washington Nationals 7-0 tonight. Zambrano (4-1) walked four and struck out five to improve to 86-56 for his career and help the Cubs snap a two-game skid. Since entering Chicago's rotation for good on July 1, 2002, his 45 road victories rank second in the major leagues. More »

      Nieves Hits Ninth-Inning Blast to Lift Nationals

      (Newser) - Wil Nieves hit his first major league homer, a two-run shot in the ninth inning, to give the Washington Nationals a 5-3 win over the Chicago Cubs on Friday night. Nieves drove an 0-2 pitch from Chicago's Bob Howry (0-2) into the Washington bullpen in right field for the Nationals' second straight victory after dropping 16 of 19 games. More »

      (Newser) - Aaron Cook pitched eight strong innings and Brian Fuentes earned his first save in 10 months to help the Colorado Rockies end a four-game skid with a 4-2 win over the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. Cook (3-1) won his third straight start and halted the Cubs' six-game win streak. Chicago had won nine of its last 10 games. More »

      (Newser) - The lovable losers' 10,000th win was a memorable one. The Chicago Cubs beat the Colorado Rockies 7-6 on Ryan Theriot's RBI single off Kip Wells with two outs in the 10th inning last night. Both teams blew ninth-inning leads with their closers, but it was the Rockies who ended up losing their fourth straight game when leading after seven innings. More »

      Cedeno's Slam, 5 RBIs Lead Cubs Past Mets

      (Newser) - Ronny Cedeno hit a grand slam and drove in five runs, Ted Lilly won for the first time in five starts, and the surging Chicago Cubs beat the New York Mets 8-1 Tuesday for their 13th win in 16 games. The Cubs, who were 7-13 at this point a season ago, had 14 hits and improved to 14-6, their best record after 20 games since 1975. More »

      (Newser) - Aramis Ramirez tied a career-high with four hits, including a two-run homer, and the Chicago Cubs beat Pittsburgh 13-6 Sunday to complete their second three-game sweep of the Pirates this season.       (Newser) - Jason Marquis pitched six solid innings for his first victory of the season, Derrek Lee and Daryle Ward homered and the Chicago Cubs beat Pittsburgh 13-1 today for their eighth straight win over the Pirates. The Cubs are 5-0 against Pittsburgh this season. Marquis (1-0) won for the first time since Sept. 16, allowing a run and six hits while striking out seven. He also had an RBI double. More »

Derrek Lee's double with one out in the fourth was the only hit off Hamels. Relievers Ryan Madson and Clay Condrey each allowed a single. Pie's hit to left off of Phil Dumatrait (0-1) with the bases loaded scored Ryan Theriot and Alfonso Soriano, helping the Cubs win their fourth in a row. Wrigley Field is a baseball stadium in Chicago that has served as the home ballpark of the Chicago Cubs since 1916. It was built in 1914 as Weeghman Park for the Chicago Federal League baseball team, the Chicago Whales. It was also the home of the Chicago Bears of the National Football League from 1921-1970.
